Sophia is a certified Pilates and yoga instructor, with 15 years international teaching in Sydney, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Oxford. She is 3 levels of lineage from the founder, Joseph Pilates. Sophia is currently based in Ubud with her family. She has been returning to the mystical island since her yoga teacher training days back in 2002.
Emma is a certified Pilates, yoga and Barre Instructor with 13 years teaching experience. She is a certified Health Coach and founded the Emergy Pilates Studio in Sydney. Emma was the first instructor to teach Barre in Australia. She sold her studio to move to Malaysia, where she is now based with her husband.
I went for this retreat with expectations – to have fun, to be guided by great instructors, to hang out with like-minded people and to be spoilt by the magic of Ubud, Bali.
I emerged with all of that and more importantly, a stronger realisation of what I am capable of creating within myself and with the environment and community. The thoughtfully put together programme and the sheer generosity, love and support of both Sophia and Emma made everything effortless.
This was my first yoga retreat and I loved every single part of it - the location, guest house, the yoga and Pilates sessions, the chemistry of both instructors, restaurants we went to, raw food demonstration blew my mind, the hike.
It is amazing trip for my mind, body and soul.
I am looking forward to the next retreat, I will definitely be there in a heartbeat.
I spent a wonderful 4 days of Yoga, Pilates & meditation retreat in Ubud, Bali Oct 2017.
The programme was well run & organised by the 2 superb instructors Emma & Sophia. The yoga & meditation retreat with a great location contributed the tranquillity with a blend of uplifting spirituality & peace.
I highly recommend even if you have no experience of yoga & meditation as the instructors are very engaging. The outdoor adventures are breathtaking. Wonderful opportunities to see the countryside & villages & the food was simply amazing.
You are guaranteed to come back feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, energised & fulfilled!
In October last year I was lucky enough to attend one of these retreats with the amazing coaches, Emma and Sophia! It was perfect; fabulous morning classes, informative and constructive health chats, beautiful healthy food, lush scenery, time for yourself each day and some amazing restaurants and super special places! Do yourself a favour and join them on their next one!
The Mind Body Transformation Retreat with Emma & Sophia was amazing! I was very excited to go and didn’t know exactly what to expect, but it was better than I could imagine. The greatest aspect for me was the meditation. Although I had dabbled in it several years ago, this time I connected with the practice. It was much easier and quite relaxing. The location in Ubud was so peaceful and easy to unwind, relax, and get away from “everyday life”. Emma & Sophia are wonderful instructors and friends. Calming, helpful, and kind is the best way to describe them. They are a perfect balance, with each bringing a bit different version of teaching. They went beyond the norm to make this an unforgettable retreat. Setting up 2 amazing dinners, with views and exquisite cuisine. Guiding us on a sunrise walk. You can tell they love what they do! It was a bonus that we had a fantastic group of ladies, young and old(er), from various countries, but coming together for a common purpose. I would highly recommend this retreat to anyone who has the slightest interest in meditation, yoga or pilates. There’s something for everyone. Thank you, thank you! Love you two!
Before going to retreat, personally I couldn’t focus on one thing. As I took the classes and time with other people, I felt recovered. I think this retreat was quite well balanced between rest and retreat activity, also Physical activity (morning trekking and classes) and meditation were balanced well. I really enjoyed the time in the Ubud.
To have passionate instructors such as Sophia and Emma put so much love and effort into their retreat made for an amazing experience. I feel so lucky to have been guided over the four days by such knowledgeable women, teaching me the fundamentals to the practice to ensure I make the most out of my sessions. All within the beautiful setting of Bali. Thank you for the love you put into every moment of this experience. I left feeling very inspired and eager for more!
As this was my first retreat, I was unaware of what to expect. So all I can say is I would definitely recommend anyone to experience this at any age. The self awareness you come away with is just fabulous. Emma and Sophia gave all attending this retreat amazing knowledge and personal assistance. So my experience was very fulfilling. Highly recommended.
